Benghazi, 10 April 2016:
This evening the Air Force said that it had sunk a vessel off the coast . . .[restrict]near Ganfouda, bringing arms and reinforcements to terrorist fighters. The army has continued to attack the Ganfouda tourist village, scene of its heavy assault yesterday, while the terrorists have rocketed civilian areas.
However it appears that the initial momentum of the army assault has slowed in the face of stubborn resistance. There was an air strike on the district earlier today. In addition, at least one attack by a helicopter gunship was seen taking place on the isolated IS and Ansar Al-Sharia enclave of Sabri, but no sign of any attempted advance by army units.
Meanwhile militants have launched rocket barrages from Hawari to the south of the city. Missiles stuck several properties in the Benina district, causing extensive damage. It is not yet clear if there were any casualties. [/restrict]
