Tripoli, 16 April 2016:
Former TV presenter Mohammed Umtalal survived an attempted assassination in Beida today.
Details of the attack . . .[restrict]are sketchy, but the journalist who had worked for Libya Awlan (Libya First) TV channel and is now working in radio, was hit by at least one bullet and is now in hospital.
Libya Awlan, was the channel on which Armed Forces Commander-in-chief Khalifa Hafter in May 2014 announced the start of his Karama (Dignity) operation to “cleanse and purify” Benghazi of Islamist militants. [/restrict]
