The Economic Department of the Municipality of Tripoli Centre held a workshop at their headquarters . . .[restrict]in Tripoli yesterday on ‘’The activation and easing of use of electronic licensing’’.
The workshop discussed the role of electronic management and administration (e-government) which it was noted needed the passing of new laws and policies.
The possibility of using the internet to offer citizens around the clock services for licensing, certificates, the paying of taxes, company registration, the payment of fines, the processing of various official forms, better interaction and communication with citizens and fighting corruption and forged documents were raised during the discussions.
It is hoped that the use of e-government would lead to more modern and efficient transactions as well as securing data, ease of use and convenience for citizens and incentivizing citizens into using modern technology in dealings with the Municipality.
The workshop was attended by various members of the Muncipality including mayor Abdulrauf Beitelmal. [/restrict]
