Tunis, 01 December 2015:

Benghazi HoR member Younis Fannush has warned that ‘‘IS/Daesh is moving actively to implement its . . .[restrict]terrible plan to seize all of Libya’s central region including the eastern city of Ajdabiya and the surrounding Libya oil crescent’’.

If they succeed, he explained, they would have access to about two-thirds of Libya’s ‘’oil production as well as most of its oil exporting ports and terminals’’.

Fanoush said that ‘’the campaign of assassinations in Ajdabiya was a clear and strong indication of the intentions of IS’’.

The comments by the HoR member come at a time when British media sources have revealed that the West are worried that IS is considering making Libya a stronger base for its operations.

Some sources have said that IS is considering moving its headquarters to Libya in view of the anticipated squeeze in Syria.

British media sources have also revealed that the UK has sent in Special Forces into the IS controlled regions of Libya in order to gather intelligence, assess their strength and prevent IS from expanding in Libya.

‘’If IS do succeed in gaining control over the whole central and oil crescent region, regret would be of no use to neither Libya nor the rest of the world. IS is working seriously to achieve its plans (while) we disagree and fight over the government, positions and gains’’, concluded Fannush.

Meanwhile, Fannush, despite representing Benghazi,  has distanced himself from the 27 pro Cyrenaica devolutionary group of HoR members who have recently met with their counter parts from the GNC in Tunis. The group of 27 have rejected the UN-brokered GNA [/restrict]
