Tripoli, 19 October 2015:
Production at the giant El Fil field in south western Libya will restart “within days” according to the Libyan news agency LANA.
It quotes the oilfield manager, Abdul Fattah Bani, saying that a deal had been struck with local staff over back pay.
Providing that technical repairs were carried out, production could quickly reach its capacity of 130,000 barrels a day, Bani added.
The field, run by Italian energy giant Eni, has been closed since April.
