Tunis, 1 July 2015:
The undersecretary at the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in the Tripoli administration has been . . .[restrict]kidnapped according to reports from Tripoli.
The Security Directorate in the capital says that an armed group seized Tariq Milad as he was going into a mosque in Abu Sleem district. There are no indications as to who the group might be or their motives.
Tripoli is facing a wave of kidnappings, mainly for ransom, despite a recent warning from Abdul-Rauf Kara’s Rada (Deterrence) Forces that they would no longer arrest any caught who was involved in such crimes but administer summary justice. Last week, it killed an alleged kidnapper during a raid in downtown Tripoli. [/restrict]
