Charity plans to help needy families in Ramadan

By Saber Ayyub.

Tripoli, . . .[restrict]1 June 2015:

A Tripoli-based charity has launched a campaign to feed 250 needy families during Ramadan, due to start on 18 June. The aim is to provides food baskets throughout the holy month to the families who will be spread out across the country, in some 26 different places.

The campaign, “Caring about others” is the brainchild of the charity “For the good, we gathered” (?????? ??? ?????). It also plans to distribute 2,000 meals for the first ten days of Ramadan as well as providing a number of children with new clothes for Eid Al-Fitr at the end of Ramdan

It is currently looking for financial support to enable it to carry out the plans.

“The guys have been very busy working on the arrangements for the advertising campaign on TV channels, radio stations, online newspapers and billboards as well as preparing the team who will go into the streets to collect donations” said the 29-year-old head of the charity, Moutaz Al-Kharif.

The advertising campaign is based on a seemingly wrong arithmetical sum. 8 + 5 + 13 = 1 is going up on posters.

“It is weird but attractive and signifies a deeper meaning,” Moutaz explains. “ The campaign cover eight towns in the east, five in the south and 13 in the west, I know the right calculation is 26 but together they equal one nation,” he said, his eyes sparking.

The charity is using other ideas to attract sponsors to fund the campaign. It’s about a mutual interest. We are proposing to put the logos of sponsors in all the campaign materials and in return they fund the advertisement campaign. Of course, there are businessmen like to donate during the holy month of Ramadan,” Moutaz said.
