Tripoli, 14 May 2015:
Thirty young people from across Libya are at the Finding our Future workshop in Tunis this . . .[restrict]week to discuss the constitution and formulate recommendations that take youth into account.
The workshop, jointly sponsored by UNESCO, the UNDP, UNICEF, UNSMIL and the Organisation for the Report on Democracy, says that it is giving these young Libyans an opportunity to learn about the constitution-drafting process and say what they would like to see in the document.
The constitution will not only determine the extent to which young people should participatein governance and Libyan society, but it will also shape the society and culture that youth inherit. The recommendations that come out of this week’s workshop will be sent to the Constitutional Drafting Assembly and the young people will have the chance to get in touch directly with members of the assembly.
