Tripoli, 28 April 2015:
Tripoli was quiet today with no clashes or shooting reported anywhere. However, residents are continuing . . .[restrict]to have to contend with power cuts which are lasting between six and ten hours a day. All areas have been affected.
“Things are getting difficult in Tripoli with no power,” said one senior official who asked not want to be named. The outages also affected mobile phone and internet services.
According to the state electricity company GECOL, the cuts are the result of two substations being hit near Zawia in the fighting there. It says it is trying to repair them. However, the continuing clashes have made it impossible for engineers to carry out their work. [/restrict]
