Suicide car bomb kills 6, injures 21 at Misrata checkpoint

Misrata, 5 April 2015:

Six people were killed and 21 injured when a suicide car bomb was detonated at . . .[restrict]the Sadada checkpoint in the east of the city of Misrata, Sunday morning.

The explosion happened when a small truck stopped behind a bus, which was being inspected by guards at the checkpoint. The truck exploded killing three of the guards and a female passenger on the bus.  The other two dead are reported to be children. They died in hospital. Thee of the injured – two guards and a bus passenger – are said to be in critical condition, with third degree burns.

Security forces have enforced a security clampdown in the area following the car detonation.
