Tunis, 16 April 2015:

Libya’s Minister of Economy and Industry, Munir Aser, said that Libya wants to push economic . . .[restrict]relations and raise them to the level of political relations between Libya and Russia.

Aser made the statement during his meeting with the president of the Federation of Russian Chambers of Commerce, Gorge Petrov, in Moscow earlier this week on the side-lines of Prime Minister Abdullah Thinni’s Moscow visit.

Petrov presides over the Federation of 170 Russian Chambers of Commerce.

Minister Aser said that Libya has a huge potential of resources and energies and that it is able to distinguish between colonialism and investment.

He added that Libya will take into consideration those states that stood by it during times of crises with regards to the volume of trade partnership with the world.

The Minister explained that Libyans clearly understand the equation that where there is development there is security and where there is security there is development.

The Libyan people are serious about creating real development based on the respect of Libyan sovereignty and mutual benefit with development partners and friends. Relations should not be built on commercial deals, the Minister said.

While the economic situation in Libya was not ideal, it was not as reflected by the media. Terrorism was exported to Libya and is now being re-exported to those who had exported it to Libya, he added.

Terrorism has no home or nationality and if the world does not stand with Libya, terrorism and illegal migration will reach it through the European coasts.

Libyans are now regaining their breath and they will not forget their true friends that participated with them in the re-stabilization of Libya, concluded the Minister. [/restrict]
