Two members of the House of Representatives (HoR) have been accused by the Minister of . . .[restrict]Economy and Industry of interfering in ministry affairs. The same two members have previously made their own accusations against the Minister.
Economy Minister Muneer Ali Asr has requested that the HoR investigate HoR members Ali Al-Gatrani who represents Al-Abiar and Idriss Imran. Gatrani is the chair of the HoR’s Economic Committee.
According to Asr, the two accused have interfered with the ministry’s work, obstructed businessmen from fulfilling their contracts, used their influence illegally and verbally and physically assaulted an employee at the ministry.
For their part, they have accused Assr of using government monies to fund organised crime. Asr has denied the allegations and demanded a public hearing. [/restrict]
