Tripoli, 10 February 2015:
The continuing General National Congress has decided to reject the resignation of Saleh Makhzoum as . . .[restrict]a member of its team chosen to join the UNSMIL-sponsored dialogue talks.
Makhzoum, who still acts as the second deputy president of the rump Congress, submitted his resignation from the four-member team, which he was supposed to lead, a week ago. No reasons were given but he was said to be under pressure from hardliners opposed to talks no matter what the circumstances.
As a result of the vote today, according to the GNC, Makhzoum will head to the talks planned tomorrow in Ghadames. [/restrict]
