Benghazi, 7 December 2014:
Fighting in Benghazi has been heavy today with what appears to have been an Ansar Al-Sharia . . .[restrict]counterattack in Huwari, were there have been extended artillery exchanges.
The airforce launched at least one raid on Buatni, while the National Army again repeated its warning that people in Leithi, an Ansar stronghold, should be thinking of moving out for their own safety.
In the course of the artillery exchanges, the third tower of Benghazi Medical Centre was hit by a missile which started a fire. The wards in this wing of the 1,200 bed hospital are currently not used because of a lack of trained staff.
The fire was put out after some hours during which some of those fighting the blaze suffered from smoke inhalation. [/restrict]
