Tripoli, 29 July 2014:
In a teleconference yesterday the leaders of four European nations and the United States discussed . . .[restrict]the current crisis in Libya, as well as those in Ukraine, Iraq and Gaza.
British Prime Minster David Cameron, French President Francois Hollande, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi of Italy and US President Barack Obama discussed the need for an immediate ceasefire among militias in Tripoli.
They also called for the UN to play a role in seeking a resolution for the conflict. The five leaders strongly condemned “any use of violence to attack civilians, intimidate officials, or disrupt the political process.”
They also called for the immediate convening of the newly-elected House of Representatives. [/restrict]
