As expected, tomorrow, Wednesday, has been declared a public holiday by the government to enable Libyans . . .[restrict]to go to polling stations and vote in the elections for the House of Representatives.
“This is to secure a wide public participation to reinforce democracy, enrich the political process in Libya to respond to the sacrifices, demands and aspirations of Libyan people and their revolution” read a statement issued today on the government website.
Official organisations which have to work, such as hospitals, the fire services, air traffic, the police and security services were instructed to make the necessary arrangements to ensure employees could do so and vote as well.
The Prime Minister and members of the cabinet congratulated the Libyan people on the occasion of the election, the statement said. [/restrict]
