Two people have been injured, one critically, in a bomb attack in Matouba, 25 kilometres east . . .[restrict]of Derna, a local official has said.
A source close to Derna Local Council, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Libya Herald that the two had been injured on Friday when two devices placed under cars exploded near a cement factory in the area.
He said reports from news sources, including the Libyan news agency LANA, claiming the attack had targeted a military checkpoint in the town were untrue.
He added that one of the injured was awaiting transfer to a hospital in Tunisia for specialist treatment.
Two Italian construction workers were kidnapped near Matouba in January. They were released three weeks later and returned to Rome. [/restrict]
