Benghazi, 19 March 2014:
Sixty-five Turkish construction and building equipment companies along with a number of Libyan construction . . .[restrict]firms have taken part in the 3rd Libya Rebuild Exhibition in Benghazi.
Other foreign companies were to have participated in the four-day event but reportedly pulled out because of concerns about security in the city.
Despite that, Hussien Othman, head of marketing and sales for the organsiaers, El Dawlia Exhibition and Conferences Company, said that it had been successful in opening opportunities for participants, linking them with Libyan firms looking for new products and expertise.
The event, at a large open space building in Hawari that has become the city’s main exhibition venue, opened on Sunday and closed today.
Despite the security issues and the continued stoppage of government projects, the city has seen a private-sector construction boom equal to that of Tripoli.
