The Central Bank of Libya has announced that a new quarter-dinar coin will be released on . . .[restrict]16 February to commemorate the third anniversary of the revolution.
The new coin, which was commissioned over a year ago and then unveiled in December, will be gold in colour and carry palm and olive branch designs. With a feature to help the blind recognise it it also bears the name of the bank in English as well as 17 stars?.
The current quarter-dinar ten-sided brass-nickel coin with the name “Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya” and a Libyan horseman on it will remain in circulation until a later date.
