One of Libya’s popular rap artists, Murad Leo, was reported killed in a tragic shooting accident yesterday at his Al-Mansoura home in central Tripoli.
According to a neighbour, the 26-year-old singer, whose real name is Murad Ali Riani, was joking with a friend who was playing around with a gun. It went off and Murad Leo was shot in the head. He died instantly.
The funeral is being held today at Shatt Al-Hinshir cemetery, Suq Al-Juma.
Murad Leo’s song Ya Trablus wa Ya Arousa came out during the revolution, his rise to fame occured since then. He had made several online videos of his music.
