Dear Editor,
It is reported by Reuters that everyone in Norway became a theoretical crown millionaire on Wednesday because its . . .[restrict]sovereign wealth fund is now worth 5.11 trillion crowns ($828.66 billion), thanks to high oil and gas prices.
If the government of Norway with a population of 5,019,000 manages to achieve this, and give part of the oil revenues to its people, why cannot the same be achieved by our Libyan government? Is there anyone who can report this news to the Prime Minister, Ali Zeidan?
The Libyan population is about 6 million (including residents abroad) and we could make use of part of the oil revenues to develop better.
Why do we have to do the same as the Emirs of the Gulf where everything is in their hands?
Yours,
Jamil Sheriff
