Tripoli, 23 November 2013:
An official in the security forces has claimed that those involved in attack on the offices . . .[restrict]of the Supreme Security Committee (SSC) yesterday in Tripoli’s Abu Saleem district were ordinary criminals.
Speaking to the Nabaa television channel, Colonel Hussein Bu-Khotwa also said the premises were no longer used by the SSC. They now housed the Counter Crime Agency.
He added that the attackers had had no intention of holding peaceful demonstrations opposing the presence of militias in the capital. Only members of the police force had been present in the building at the time of the attacks, he said, disclosing that one officer had been injured in the incident and taken to hospital for treatment.
