Tripoli, 10 October 2013:
The bodies of three men found yesterday in a car in the Enjila area south of . . .[restrict]Janzour, western Tripoli, were identified today. They were Ali Juwaida a member of the Warshafana tribe and of the Libya Shield forces, Muhannad Arabati, also Warshafana, and Salm Mukhtar Almashai, from the Mashashiya tribe.
The three had been shot, their hands tied and there were signs of torture on their bodies.
The motive for the killings and their killers are unknown. However, it is thought that it could have something to do with the inter-communal violence between the Washafana, Zawia and towns in the Jebel Nafusa (Western Mountains) that has seen a number of attacks and killings in recent days and blocked one of the main routes in and out of the mountains.
The families of the dead men have been notified.
At his press conference this morning on the kidnapping of the Prime Minister, the President of Congress Nuri Abu Sahmain linked the three killings to Ali Zeidan’s abduction, saying that no one could take the law into their own hands. Those who did so and undermined state security and would be punished, he said. [/restrict]
