Tripoli, 9 October:
Qaddafi’s cousin and former leading aide, Ahmed Qaddaf Al-Dam has again had his case adjourned by . . .[restrict]a Cairo court.
Al-Dam is charged with the attempted murder of a police officer during a dawn siege on his house in Cairo by Egyptian forces. The move followed an extradition request from Libya for Egypt to hand over 40 people accused of collaborating with the Qaddafi regime.
Former Libyan ambassador to Egypt, Ali Mohamed Marya, and Mohamed Ibrahim Mansour, who was a senior finance official in the old regime were captured on the same day and extradited on 26 March.
Qaddaf Al-Dam cannot be extradited to Libya until his case in Egypt has been closed. He is also accused of resisting arrest and possessing firearms without a licence.
No date has been fixed for the next hearing. [/restrict]
