The trade mission is a joint initiative of the Italian Trade Commission – Trade Section of the Embassy of Italy in Libya, and Padova Promex, the operational branch of Padova Chamber of Commerce.
The programme includes business-to-business meetings on the 22nd, followed by visits to Libyan companies’ facilities in the following days.

Despite security conditions, Italian companies see great business potential in Libya. This initiative will be followed by another two trade missions, to be organized by the Italian Trade Commission within a few months.
Trade volumes between Italy and Libya grew dramatically in 2012 and nearly returned to pre-war levels, while mid-year figures show a further increase in 2013. It is particularly noteworthy that Italian exports to Libya, after a 300% growth in 2012 to 2,4 billion Euros, have already grown by another 17% until May 2013 and are projected to touch 2,7 billion Euros by year end, with Italy retaining its traditional position as the main supplier of the Libyan market.
