There was confusion this evening after the Minister of the Interior Spokesman, Captain Rami Kaal was . . .[restrict]reported by the Libyan news agency LANA to have denied that Colonel Abdulsalam Al-Lafi, a member of General Staff, was shot in Tripoli last Wednesday and later died of his wounds.
LANA quotes the spokesman saying that the reports were completely unfounded.
However, the original report of Lafi’s murder was announced by the Information Office of the Chief of Staff on its Facebook page last Thursday. It still posted there.
Attempts by the Libya Herald to contact the Ministry spokesman were unsuccessful. [/restrict]
