Tripoli, 21 June 2013:
Repair work on the Nageza Bridge on Garabulli-Khoms section of the coastal highway – the first . . .[restrict]infrastructure contract started and finished since the revolution – has been completed four months ahead of schedule. A handover ceremony is to be held at the bridge on Sunday in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Transport and other senior ministry officials as well as the contractors, Italian company Con.I.Cos.
The LD 2.7 million project was one of only three new projects awarded by the Ministry since the revolution. All the other projects are restarts of contract that went on hold in 2011. In the case of the Nageza bridge work was deemed urgent. Work started on 18 January and was due to be finished in October.
Con.I.Cos is involved in a number of projects in Libya, including the complete repaving of Ghat airport where work restarted at the beginning of May 2013.
