Benghazi, 21 October:
Dozens of demonstrators . . .[restrict]this evening broke into and ransacked the Benghazi headquarters of TV channel Libya Al-Hurra. They were said to be members of the Warfalla tribe. They accused the station of not supporting Bani Walid in the present clash between it and the armed forces. The majority of Bani Walid’s inhabitants are Warfalla.
Programming was suspended as a result of the attack.
The station is close linked to the Libyan revolution. Founded by Mohammad Nabbous who was killed on 19 March last year, 2011, Libya Hurra was the first TV station to support the revolution. [/restrict]
