Tripoli, 30 September:

The newly-appointed Libyan agent for Chinese dredging and salvage company, Yuandong International, is already in talks with the National . . .[restrict]Oil Company (NOC) and other oil companies about offshore work.

Mohamed Douas, chief executive officer for M+M Shipping, told Libya Herald: “Yuandong is well placed and ready to play an active role in the local oil and gas industry as well as the Libyan ports’ infrastructure.” M+M Shipping has just been appointed as Yuandong’s exclusive agent in Libya.

Yuandong specialises in underwater services such as drilling and blasting, salvage and underwater pipe-laying.

M+M Shipping is a new private venture within a group of logistics and transport industry companies, including Atheka Aviation and Libyan Shipping Line SA. Serving the country’s main ports, the Libyan company provides shipping and transport services and acts as shipping agent to the oil and gas industry. [/restrict]
