According to the organisers of the event, reconstruction over the next ten years has been assessed to amount up to $480 billion, making Libya the place to be for construction companies. They also expect that once Libya is more politically stable, the service and construction industry, which currently accounts for around 20 percent of GDP, will grow and represent a greater share of the GDP.

Some contracts in education, hospitals and road construction have already been awarded due to their urgency but were short-term agreements. However, they caution that contract awarding for major projects will be done through recently elected bodies, and this may take some time but should not be a deterrent to doing business in Libya.
