Tripoli, 19 July:

Tripoli International Airport organized a ceremony on Wednesday to honour all those who took part in the liberation of . . .[restrict]the airport.  It was also a “thank-you” to all the companies that contributed to its rehabilitation and getting it back to normal service.

The event, sponsored by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, was attended by the minister, Yousif Wehashi, the Director of Tripoli International Airport Milad Matoug as well as a number of departmental managers at the airport, together with members of Zintan local council and families of those being honored.

Zintan brigadesmen were responsible for liberating the airport.  They continued to control it until April.

Honorary certificates of appreciation and gifts were distributed to them and others in recognition of the role they played in the liberation of the airport and the protection of its vital facilities. [/restrict]
