Tripoli, 23 May:
A number of Rights movements and NGOs demonstrated at the National Transitional Council’s HQ in Tripoli yesterday in opposition . . .[restrict]to Law No. 36 that freezes the assets of certain individuals and companies.
In a press release, the demonstrators called on the NTC to enforce the same transparency and integrity standards on numerous others that they felt were omitted from the list. They also expressed their concern for the lack of right to seek recourse through the normal judicial system, feeling that Law 36 goes against the grain of the Islamic right to basic justice.
