Tripoli, March 22: The NTC Chairman, Mustafa Abdul Jalil, used the occasion of Mother and Child Day, March 21, to mark . . .[restrict]the contribution of mothers and young people played in the Libyan revolution.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday he said: “We extend on this special day our most sincere and best wishes and heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to our mothers, the martyrs’ mothers, martyrs’ wives, mothers of the wounded, wives of the wounded, mothers of the missing, wives of the missing and to all the mothers who gave help and support to the revolutionary fighters of the February 17 movement and ensured that victory was achieved for this great nation.

Jalil praised the role played by the whole spectrum of the Libyan society, young and old, women and children during the February 17 Revolution, adding ; “I salute the spectrum of our society, all our mothers, ‘mothers of the men of courage’ on this blessed day, and praise the courage of our children who have suffered and undergone the burden and hardship during the liberation war.” [/restrict]
