Misrata Election results

The results of the local elections in Misrata were announced late Tuesday night.

Voting took place on Monday, 20 February. According to . . .[restrict]officials there was a 57 percent turnout of the 100,000 registered electors.  There were 245 candidates contesting 28 council seats and the first-past-the-post system was used to decide the winners.

The results are:

District 1 (Shahada Arramalah – 4 seats)

  1. Atiya Al-Dreini
  2. Yusuf ben Yusuf
  3. Rejeb Al-Faqieh
  4. Ali Al-Ajtal

District 2 (9 July – 3 seats)
