Tripoli, 27 October 2021:
Participants from the Libyan Customs Authority underwent Container Control Programme (CCP) training in Tunisia, to strengthen their skills targeting and screening dangerous goods and cargo coming into Libya’s key ports.
This hands-on programme to improve Libyan border security was organized by the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), funded by the US Department of State’s Export Control and Border Security (EXBS).
The U.S. Embassy Economic Officer Patricia Morales met the Libyan participants, and thanked UNODC, the Government of Tunisia, and the Tunisian Customs Authority for making this programme possible.
The United States embassy stated that this comes as part of the U.S.’s continued support for a safe and secure Libya.
